It's been a massive couple of days for the club, winning the Northern state Twenty20 final the day before we farewelled our founding father Syd Holland.
He would be proud. Thank you to our hard-working committee and players for their efforts in pulling it all together.
Also, congratulations to Dane Anderson who passed 1000 HCC runs on Sunday with a superb knock.
FEMALE BOOM (7th) v Evandale - lost by 43 runs
Opening the bowling in the teams' final home match of 2020-21, Hailee Harris was the stand out bowler - collecting 2-21 in keeping Evandale to 3-133.
With the bat, many batters got starts but it was Kate Dobber (19 off 25) and Mel Denman (10 off 14) who went after the attack in pursuit.
However, we fell short finishing 6-90.
PREMIER LEAGUE (1st) v Legana - won by 8 wickets
Bowling for the first time in a while, extras were the only blemish for what was otherwise a solid effort to dismiss the hosts for 108 in 23.3 overs.
Kyle Strochnetter was the chief destroyer with 3-19, while Shahid Ahmed (2-20), Beau Hills (2-16) and Ian Labrooy (2-20) were in sync.
Thanuka Dabare (52 off 23) and Dane Anderson sought about ending the match quickly, before Dilan Jayalath (13*) helped out to see us home at 2-111 in the 11th over.
A-GRADE - BLACK (1st) v Trevallyn - won by 10 wickets
An impressive finish to the year was capped off by us securing the minor premiership in the final round.
Our bowlers proved too difficult for Trevallyn, bundling out the visitors for 83 in 24.2 overs.
Ash Smith was dominant with 3-12 off 5.3, while Harwinder Singh (2-18), Kobe Harris (2-28 and Matt Green (1-23) were also on song.
In the chase, Rexy Smith (53*) and Ivo Agostini (27*) started and finishedthe job in 13.2 overs.
A-GRADE - RED (11th) v Beauty Point - lost by 6 wickets
Batting first, many of our batsmen made starts but couldn't fully capatalise with us bowled out for 117 with five overs to spare.
Jack Ikin dug in at the top for 15, while Alan Eadie (11), Jake Winter (16), Sameera Vishwaranga (31) and Tom Walker (17) all passed double figures.
In reply, the hosts got home with 11 overs to spare despite the skipper (1-25), Josh Walker (1-14), Campbell Fraser (1-15) and Tyson Campbell (1-25) claiming wickets.
B-GRADE (5th) v ACL- won by 7 wickets
The lads ended the season with another strong win after posting 3-114.
Tim Shaw smacked a near run-a-ball 85, while Brett Matthews made a well-crafted 54 and Dave Smith finished unbeaten on 30.
With the ball, Smithy was his usual self collecting 2-15, Damon Prince 2-57 and Adrian Hinds 3-4.
A top effort.
