Round 15 Weekly Wrap - Records Broken Again
Date of Event Hadspen Cricket Club : Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:54AM
On a weekend we paid homage to Chieftains icon Syd Holland, the club was full of pride and ecstasy as many records tumbled.
Life member Steve Neville addressed the HCC faithful before Premier League amassed the club's highest team score of 4-451 as Thanuka Dabare hit 200 off 91 balls - the highest individual A-Grade/Premier League score.
Dabare also passed 3000 club runs and combined with opening partner Dane Anderson (132) for the club's greatest opening stand (306).
Loyal Chieftain Ashley Smith also claimed his 100th club wicket, while under-12s superstar Kohen Roles picked up a hat-trick tonight - awesome work guys.
FEMALE BOOM (6th) v Legana won by 5 runs
The ladies got reward for hard work on Wednesday with their second win of the season.
Batting first, Kate Dobber dominated with 38 not out off 35 balls in guiding us to 7-107.
Chloe Mason made a well earned 15* and Lacey Deman 9*.
In defence, we had two run outs while Aliya Gunn (1-9) and Kate (1-13) picked up wickets in holding Legana off.
A tremendous victory!
PREMIER LEAGUE (1st) v Bracknell - won by 331 runs
Thanuka Dabare continued his red-hot run of good form - smacking his fourth score of 90-plus in as many weeks, while Dane Anderson played a fine second fiddle with his second century for the club.
Liam Reynolds, who elected to bat first, finished with an unbeaten 40*, while Damian Woods was 20 not out when the innings finished 4-451.
Beau Hills was on song with the ball - collecting 5-19 - with a fine display of accurate bowling.
A great day all-round - Syd would have been proud watching on from Holland Hill.
A-GRADE - BLACK (2nd) v Longford - won by 11 runs
In an important match for our top two chances, the lads prevailed in a tough contest.
Ivo Agostini (38) and Dean Stephens put on 73 for the second wicket to set the platform for our 8-152, while Kobe Harris (16) and Shahid Ahmed (32*) finished it off.
Boom Boom took his batting momentum back onto the field, cleaning up Longford's top order with 3-23 and he was well supported by the entire cartel who managed to hold off the defiant hosts late in the match.
A gritty performance.
A-GRADE - RED (10th) v Trevallyn - lost by 192 runs
Bowling first, Trevallyn made us work for our wickets on its way to 4-229.

With the bat, it was not our finest day - dismissed for 37.

C-GRADE (5th) v Beauty Point - lost by 49 runs
With a simple scenario of win and play finals, we couldn't get the job done.
Bowling first, we were not quite on as the Tigers made 8-204 despite Tayne Thomas (2-33) and Mathew Williams (1-17) toiling hard.
In the chase, we lost two quick wickets before Corey Martin (33) and Ji Cooley (52) put on a 73-run third-wicket stand to guide us to 3-90 with 18 overs to go.
However, regular wickets from there on in made the task very hard despite Tayne (9*), Willo (15) and Riley Prewer (12*) fighting it out.
