Round 7 Weekly Wrap
Date of Event Hadspen Cricket Club : Tue Dec 8, 2020 7:41AM
This week two club stalwarts passed significant career milestones.
Nick Price became just the 10th Chieftain to claim 200 wickets.
A 173-game player, Pricey is a valuable member of the club as someone who always gives his all, wears his heart on his sleeve and is always willing to give a helping hand.
ALSO, Dean Stephens notched up his 100th run in just 28 matches.
Like Norm, Deano has become a cult figure at the HCC with his loyalty and party bus captaincy.
A committeeman, his groundwork is second to none and neither is his support and mateship!.
Top stuff legends!

FEMALE BOOM (5th) v Legana - Lost by 7 runs
What a nailbiter!
After holding Legana to 5-92 with a great fielding performance, we fell just short.
The ladies managed four runouts thanks to some tight bowling pressure, while Michelle Dobber picked up 1-15.
The chase started strongly with Deb Furlonge (13*) and Kate Dobber (18*) building the foundation.
Angela Riley (14) and Lani Gunn (14) kept us in the game before a minor batting collapse at a crucial time saw us fall just short.
A top contest.
PREMIER LEAGUE (1st) v Legena - won by 7 wickets
With the threat of rain Liam Reynolds elected to field first, and it paid off.
The lads dismissed Legana for 94 in 27.4 overs with Deepak Singh (4-25), Shahid Ahmed (3-14), Beau Hills (2-15) and SameeraVishwaranga (1-14) all on song.
Dane Anderson (53) compiled yet another half century with minor contributions from Thanuka Dabare (17) and John Lefevre (13) as we passed the required total in 11.4 overs.
A-GRADE - BLACK (4th) v Exeter - won by 46 runs
Batting first at Legana we worked our way to 159 with several batsmen getting a start.
Dean Stephens (13) passed 1000 HCC runs in the process of taking out top-scorer Ivo Agostini (38), who had to make a trip to the LGH for several stitches.
Other valuable contributions came from Andrew Wynter (26), Gareth Hamilton (12), Paul Degetto (14) and Travis Crisp (10).
In defence, Matt Green (3-14), Travis Crisp (3-42), Kyle Strochnetter (2-18) and Harwinder Singh (1-20) worker together in bundling out Exter for 113.
A-GRADE - RED (5th) v Longford - lost by 38 runs
A solid bowling display had us in the match up to our teeth with Tom Walker (3-13), Nick Price (2-16) - including is 200th HCC poll - Josh Walker (2-31) and Sithara Perera (1-18) toppling Longford for 130.
In response, Sith (20) and Tommy (16) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as the regular loss of wickets made things difficult and saw us fall short by 38 runs.
B-GRADE (1st) v Beauty Point - won by 8 wickets
A solid team performance ensured the B-grade lads kept a winning run going.
Bowling first, Adam House (3-24) led from the front and had good support from Ash Smith (1-19), Clint Pease (1-30), Martin Dicker (1-14) and Jordan Smith (1-8) in ensuring the target to chase was 144.
Brett Matthews (25) and Tim Shaw (9) set the platform for Peasey (39*) and Adam House (55*) to finish the job and it only took 27 overs to do so.
C-GRADE (4th) v Beauty Point - lost by 7 wickets
Electing to bowl it was extras that let us down, which allowed Beauty Point to post 8-158.
Terry Plumbridge was back in business with 3-29, while Damon Prince (2-25) and Tayne Thomas (2-34).
Congratulations to debutant Josh Dean for collecting his maiden senior wicket - to stuff.
In reply, poor shot selection let us down and in the end cost us the contest despite efforts from Jas (24), Tez (31*) and Tiana Plumbridge (7).
UNDER-16s v South Launceston - Lost by 23 runs
A man-of-the-match effort from Max Reissig and another great team display almost got us over the line.
Max picked up 2-21 and a runout, while Reuben Winter (1-11), Jake Winter (1-19) and Zac Reissig (1-24) were successful in holding the hosts to 6-136.
Tayne Thomas (16) and Jake (8) got us off to a good start before Max (51) took control and put us in a strong position.
However, a batting collapse put us on the backfoot despite an unbeaten 14 from Zac late in the innings.
Overall, a brilliant effort.

Hadspen 6-143 (K. House 35*, L. Winter 24*, E. Clarke 15, J. House 14) def St Pats 5-77 (K. Green 2-14, T. Sherwood 1-5, J. House 1-8, K. House 1-13)
